Pizza Bianca back in training after not meeting sale reserve

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Pizza Bianca, the 2021 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner, did not attain her reserve at the Fasig-Tipton November sale on Sunday and has been shipped back to trainer Christophe Clement at Belmont Park.
It is expected to that Pizza Bianca will remain in training for her 4-year-old season, according to Bradley Weisbord, who was the consignor of the filly for owner Bobby Flay at the sale.
Clement said he may look to run Pizza Bianca again this year if a race make sense.
“Let’s get her to a breeze and see where we’re at,” Clement said.

Pizza Bianca went 1 for 4 this year with a victory in the Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico. She went to Royal Ascot where she finished eighth in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes. Most recently, she was fourth as the favorite in the Sands Point Stakes at Aqueduct.
Had Pizza Bianca not been in the sale, Clement may have pointed her to Sunday’s $135,000 Winter Memories Stakes at Aqueduct.
Instead, Clement entered the trio of Myriskyaffair, Parnac and She’s a Mia in the 1 1/16-miles stakes for 3-year-old fillies, which drew 10 for the turf and two main-track only entrants.
The Winter Memories will share billing with the $135,000 Artie Schiller Stakes, which was rescheduled from Saturday. Clement entered Decorated Invader and Big Everest among 11 entried for the turf plus two main-track only entrants. The field on turf is limited to 10 starters.
