Pish double-teams Gladyousawme in Louisiana Legacy

Trainer Danny Pish will send out two starters against the undefeated Gladyousawme on Saturday night in the $150,000 Louisiana Legacy at Delta Downs. Budro Talking won the Sunday Silence in September at Louisiana Downs, and Cajun Creed ran third in the D.S. “Shine” Young Futurity back in July at Evangeline.
“They’re both nice colts,” Pish said.
The Legacy is a mile race restricted to 2-year-olds bred in Louisiana. The stakes annually has been part of the Delta Downs Jackpot program, but it stands alone this year as Hurricane Harvey’s impact has led to the cancellation of both the Grade 3, $1 million Jackpot and the Grade 3, $500,000 Delta Downs Princess, which were to be run Saturday.
Louisiana Legacy (Race 8)
KEY CONTENDERS
Budro Talking, by Tale of Ekati
Last 3 Beyers: 43-63-50)
◗ He’s testing the Louisiana-bred ranks for the first time after facing Grade 3 rivals last out in the Bourbon on Oct. 28 at Keeneland. Budro Talking finished 13th in that race, which was scheduled for turf but run over a sloppy main track.
“Sloppy was an understatement,” Pish said. “That was a very, very, very off track – with an exclamation point.”
◗ Budro Talking closed from off the pace and won the $60,000 Sunday Silence on turf one start earlier. In his only other start, he won a maiden race July 26 on the dirt main track at Evangeline.
◗ Diego Saenz has the mount from post 5 for owner Jerry Durant.
Cajun Creed, by Jimmy Creed
Last 3 Beyers: 71-38-45
◗ He made his two-turn debut last out in a first-level allowance over seven furlongs at Delta and was second by a head to Gladyousawme.
“He sure did not appear to be tiring last out,” Pish said. “The two turns was slightly farther than he’d been. I think he can get another eighth.”
◗ Gerard Melancon has the mount from post 3 for Horseplayers Racing Club.
Gladyousawme, by Due Date
Beyers: 59-71
◗ He set the pace and won his debut by three lengths in a maiden special weight at a mile on turf Sept. 27 at Indiana Grand. He was flattered when runner-up Storm Peak came back in his next start to win a maiden special weight at Indiana Grand.
◗ Gladyousawme has made one start since, winning a first-level allowance Oct. 28 on the dirt at Delta. He tracked the pace and won a battle with Cajun Creed.
◗ Roberto Morales has the mount from the rail for Richard and Bertram Klein.
