Pinnacle Race Course in Michigan has been granted 84 racing days in 2010.\nThe meet will begin on June 5 and run through Oct. 31. Racing will be conducted Friday-Sunday through June 27, then Tuesdays will be added for the rest of the meet. The track raced 74 days this year, its second year of operation.\nAlso, in the recently passed Michigan budget, funding was fully restored for the breeding programs and for the Office of the Racing Commissioner.\n"I m cautiously optimistic, as we ve had the rug pulled out from under us before, said Gary Tinkle, executive director of the state s HBPA. The economic climate in Michigan makes it all suspect. Also, the commissioner s office may not be around by then. \nWithout further action from the legislature, the ORC will be abolished in January and racing will be put under control of the Gaming Control Board.
