Pink Lloyd extends win streak in Shepperton

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Pink Lloyd won his fourth consecutive stakes easily on Sunday at Woodbine in the $100,000 Shepperton, the same race in which his record 11-race win streak in stakes ended last year.
With Eurico Da Silva up, Pink Lloyd stalked the leaders in third from a three-wide position entering the turn in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired stock. He then made a quick move to hit the front at the head of the stretch.
Pink Lloyd ($2.30) opened up a clear lead nearing the eighth pole, and then drifted to the rail in deep stretch before prevailing by 4 1/4 lengths in a time of 1:15.40.

Dixie’s Gamble rallied inside to finish a clear second over pacesetter Spanish Express. Marten Lake, Call Me Wally, and Jacks Escarpment completed the order of finish.
A 7-year-old multiple Canadian champion by Old Forester, Pink Lloyd earned $60,000 for Entourage Stable. His career earnings total just over $1.5 million.
“This is his 17th stakes win, and his 20th win,” said trainer Robert Tiller. “I haven’t had any [other] horses win 20 races, and I’ve never had a horse win more than three, or four, or five stakes. This horse is not a horse. He’s half-human. We love him to death. He’s just one of the great loves of my life. He’s just amazing. He carries weight. He carried 127 pounds. He runs at horses. He’s never been better.”
