Pink Lloyd could pass $1 million mark in Achievement Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Pink Lloyd extended his Woodbine stakes winning streak into double digits with his 10th consecutive victory in the New Providence Stakes on May 13. Trainer Robert Tiller said he is now pointing Pink Lloyd to the $100,000 Achievement Stakes on June 3 at Woodbine.
The Achievement Stakes, for Ontario-bred 3-year-olds and up, will be over six furlongs on Tapeta. Pink Lloyd also won last season’s Achievement Stakes.
Pink Lloyd faced just three rivals, including stablemate Goodoldhockeygame, in the New Providence. He went on to win by 6 1/4 lengths under jockey Eurico Da Silva. He earned a 101 Beyer Speed Figure in the win, his third consecutive triple-digit Beyer.
“We should really appreciate this horse, because they just don’t come along,” Tiller said following the New Providence. “The LeBron James of Canadian horse racing, does that fit? That’s what I’m saying.”
Pink Lloyd now has earned $980,080 in his career and could become Canadian racing’s newest millionaire in the Achievement. Pink Lloyd would need a win or a runner-up finish to cross the $1 million mark in career earnings.
