ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The amazing Pink Lloyd extended his unbeaten streak at Woodbine to 11 consecutive stakes scores while vaulting over $1 million in Canadian earnings in Sunday’s $125,000 Achievement at Woodbine. There was no shortage of drama in the six-furlong dash for older Ontario-breds, which scratched down to a four-horse field. After breaking awkwardly under Eurico Da Silva, Pink Lloyd dueled for the lead through quick fractions with Lokinforpursemonee, who was put to an all-out drive by Rafael Hernandez from the outset. Pink Lloyd ($2.10) assumed command inside the quarter pole, opened up a clear lead in the stretch, and was geared down late to prevail by three lengths in 1:09. After missing the break, Conquest Lemonraid rallied inside from far back to finish second, as Lokinforpursemonee weakened to third and Occasional View checked in fourth. “He’s half horse, half freak,” said Robert Tiller, who trains Pink Lloyd. “He just wants to run. He wants to go after them. Rafael did a little 44-and-change half, trying to get us beat, but that’s horse racing. He won with his ears up, eased. He didn’t have any more horses to run at anymore. I’m so proud of him.” For winning the Achievement for the second year in a row, reigning Canadian Horse of the Year Pink Lloyd, a son of Old Forester, earned $78,750 for Entourage Stable. There was only win and exacta wagering on the race.
