Pinchin loaded with 2-year-olds
Trainer Jose Pinchin had himself a big weekend. On Friday, his promising 2-year-old Fully Loaded remained unbeaten after drawing away to a very convincing 7 1/2-length allowance victory. Forty-eight hours later, Pinchin sent out Front Loaded to a similarly impressive four-length triumph in Sunday’s $48,000 allowance co-feature at one mile. Edgard Zayas was aboard both winners.
Fully Loaded, a son of Two Step Salsa, was a game winner over trainer Todd Pletcher’s well-regarded Social Paranoia in his debut. He has paired Beyer Speed Figures of 75 in his two starts, tops for any juvenile male on the main track in South Florida thus far this season, and is currently the early favorite for the $100,000 Dr. Fager division of the Florida Sire Series on Aug. 4.
◗ Thursday’s main event is a seven-furlong optional claimer for fillies and mares that carries a $48,000 purse. Key contenders in the wide-open field of seven include Magalie, Yes I’ll Go, and Doritza, all three dropping in class after finishing off the board against stakes company in their previous outings.
My Cousin Martha, Luna Azteca, Faith N Hope, and Wildcat Kate round out the lineup.
