Pimlico: Spirited Game favored

After facing older fillies and mares in her last three starts, Spirited Game is back in against 3-year-olds in the $75,000 Politely at Pimlico.

The 122-pound highweight in a field of seven fillies racing six furlongs, Spirited Game rallied to finish second in last month's Maryland Million Distaff, but regressed Oct. 28 in her most recent outing when she bore out at the start and faded as the heavy favorite against optional claimers.

Perilous Night, who finished nearly four lengths ahead of Spirited Game on Oct. 28, and Two Punch Gal, coming off a sharp allowance win in the mud at Keeneland, are two others who merit consideration.

Perilous Night has been first or second in three of her four previous starts at Pimlico, including back-to-back wins in April.

Two Punch Gal has two wins and a pair of seconds in her last four races, but is susceptible to a bounce after improving 15 points on the Beyer scale last time out.
