ARCADIA, Calif. – A four-day racing week at Santa Anita begins Thursday with a carryover of $44,113 in the $2 pick six. Santa Anita has scheduled races from Thursday through Sunday. Post time will be 1 p.m. Pacific each day except for a 3:15 p.m. start on Friday to coincide with simulcasting of the Kentucky Oaks program from Churchill Downs. The pick six will cover the fourth through ninth races on Thursday’s program. The pick six races have fields of eight, eight, 10, eight, eight, and nine before scratches. There are three sprints on dirt and three turf races – a sprint and two one-mile races. The pool of new money in the pick six may exceed $300,000. On Sunday, the pick six was clinched when Alix ($19.80) roared through the stretch to win the eighth race, a $20,000 claiming event for maidens at 5 1/2 furlongs. :: Santa Anita Classic Meet!
