Santa Anita

Pick six carryover of $94,643 for Monday's card

Steve Andersen|May 25, 2014

ARCADIA, Calif. - There is a jackpot carryover for Monday, though it’s not the one that bettors coveted a chance to conquer.

While the Rainbow 6 was hit at Gulfstream Park on Sunday, there will be a pick six carryover of $94,643 for Monday’s nine-race program at Santa Anita.

Monday’s program begins at 1:30 p.m. Pacific, with the fourth race, the first race of the pick six, due to start at 3 p.m.

The sequence includes several competitive races, with fields of 8, 10, 7, 9, 12, and 12. Along the way, there are a few horses expected to dominate the betting, notably Time for a J, who is 8-5 on the morning-line for the fourth race, a maiden claimer. In the sixth race, Stormin Lute (8-5) and Mavericks Gun (9-5) will be short prices in a $25,000 claimer over seven furlongs.

The sequence includes one stakes – the $300,000 Gamely Stakes, a Grade 1 for fillies and mares over 1 1/8 miles on turf. Emollient is the 3-1 favorite on the morning-line, a slight choice over Emotional Kitten, Stormy Lucy, and Parranda in a field of nine.

There was one early scratch in a pick six race on Sunday. In the ninth race, a maiden race on the hillside turf course, Spy Girl has been withdrawn.
