Handicapping analysis and ticket for the $25,000-guaranteed late pick five on Saturday at Century Mile. RACE 8: AVANA easily won the Century Casino Oaks last season and looks to get a perfect setup in here with the pace drawn to either side of her. She is a model of consistency and has picked up where she left off last season. BIG HUG looks to be a real threat coming in with back-to-back 80 Beyers. She also does her best running from off the pace and cuts back in distance after a gritty victory in the R.K Red Smith Handicap. (2) RACE 9: TAKE CHARGE TOM crossed the wire first in the roughly run Manitoba Derby and was disqualified for interference early in the race. He will have other pace to contend with if they keep those same tactics, but he did win the Mine That Bird Derby with a stalking trip. (1) RACE 10: AUGUST RAIN warrants respect but is unpredictable with his late-running style and has been the beaten favorite in his last two. He needs help on the front end but is proven at the distance, while many in this field have questions. AT ATTENTION looks to improve off his third in this race last year. He will be dangerous if he gets the first jump on the closers. GHOSTLY SPITFIRE is worth a shot at a price. The son of Ghostzapper should have no problem with the distance and was finishing well after being floated five wide into the lane last out. FLASHFORDANI has been in good form and gave fellow contender At Attention all he could handle two back, just missing by a head. AL REICHERT also will be closing late in what looks like will be a mad dash for the wire. (5) :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now. RACE 11: PERDITION has been consistently outrunning his odds this season with steadily improving Beyers. The 7-year-old gelding is knocking on the door at a very generous price. FIRECRACKER STAND is fast and very logical, but I am not sure he will get an uncontested lead like his previous races. If he does, look out. ISLE OF SKYE also looks to contest the pace from the rail and should appreciate going back to six furlongs. PUMP THE BRAKES will benefit from any sort of speed duel and is arriving here with confidence off a win. (4) RACE 12: OOPS deserves a pass for her routing effort in her last as that clearly is not her thing. She cuts back to a sprint, and while she is winless at the distance, she looks to have hooked the right field for a breakthrough victory. DAZ LIN FORCE was no match for the heavy favorite in her last. There is not much pace here, so it won’t be surprising to see her try and take this field gate to wire. SWEET CITY DOLL was a little overmatched last out in her first against winners, and the winner of that race came back to win again next out.
