Philadelphia: 'Valley' romps

Joe DeVivo|Oct 08, 2005
Valley of the Gods
EQUI-PHOTO Valley of the Gods wins the $53,800 Pistol Packer Handicap at Philadelphia Park on Sunday.

Valley of the Gods ended Immune to Gloom's four-race winning streak when she dominated the $53,800 Pistol Packer Handicap at Philadelphia Park by 7 3/4 lengths.

A 5-year-old mare trained by Keith Lebarron and ridden by Harry Vega, Valley of the Gods ($5) won her second stakes for Pennsylvania-breds this season, leading from wire to wire. Her time for 1 1/16 miles over a sloppy track was 1:46.34.

Immune to Gloom, the 6-5 favorite, chased in second for the entire race, finishing three lengths clear of third-place Mae and Rae.
