Philadelphia Park track report

Joe DeVivo|May 07, 2003

West Coast trainer Clifford Sise Jr. is bringing a string of 22 horses to Philadelphia Park.

Sise will remain in Southern California and plans to have his son, Robert, oversee the horses he has stabled at Philadelphia. The horses will be given some time to acclimate to their new surroundings and could be ready to race by the end of May.

There is no word on exactly which horses Sise is shipping, but he told director of racing Sal Sinatra the group will include a 3-year-old colt who will be pointed to the Pennsylvania Derby and a 3-year-old filly whose long-range goal will be the Cotillion. The Grade 3, $500,000 Pennsylvania Derby is scheduled for Sept. 1, and the Grade 2, $250,000 Cotillion Handicap will be run Oct. 4.
