Philadelphia Park track report

Apprentice Sandi Dorr has been the hottest rider on the grounds at Philadelphia Park.

This week, she has already ridden nine winners, including four over a sloppy track on Monday's program.

"I can't really explain it myself," said Dorr, who has moved into fourth in the track's jockey standings with 40 wins and is also the leading apprentice. "People are finally giving me a shot to ride some live horses and I've gotten lucky I guess. In the slop I had horses that just had natural speed. Let them run to the front, help them relax, and take it from there."

Dorr's hot streak began in Sunday's first race, when she won from just off the pace with Mike's Pappy ($8.40) for trainer Mary Goodman. She went wire to wire with dropdown horse Day's Dream ($4.20) for trainer Randy Allen in the fifth. Her third winner came in the feature aboard Midnite Coach ($12.40), who ran down the favored Stop That Music late to win by a neck for trainer James Conner III.

Dorr won Monday's first race for trainer Bill Hedus with a drop-down favorite Misinformed ($3.40), then swept the fifth through seventh races with Balladeer ($5), Intimate Music ($7.80), and Hitchhiker ($9.40). A pick three using all of Dorr's mounts paid $117.80. On Tuesday, she won the first race with Lucky Folly ($6.20) and the fifth with Joepa ($7.60).
