Philadelphia: Gadace's Khamseh wires

Gadace's Khamseh, left as the lone speed following five scratches, capitalized on his advantage to register his first stakes victory in the $100,000 at Philadelphia Park.
Ridden by Victor Molina for trainer Phil Aristone, the 4-year-old Gadace's Khamseh ($5.60) opened up a quick three-length lead in the seven-furlong race, and despite drifting a bit wide entering the stretch was able to hold off a mild bid by Say Mi Name to win by three-quarters of a length. Polish Pride, the 6-5 favorite, finished third.
The final time was 1:21.27.
Since finishing second in the Presidents Cup at Philly Park last August, Gadace's Khamseh had made only one start, a second-place effort against optional claimers in a six-furlong sprint two weeks ago. He has now won 4 of 10 starts.
