Perfect to Please provides value play against classy field

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Perfect to Please appears to be a value play in Friday night’s fifth race at Lone Star Park. He’s one of six horses in the optional $50,000 claimer at a mile, with the field rounded out by stakes winners Polka Joke, Texas Air, Get in Da House, Johnny Whip, and He Has Bling.
Perfect to Please is returning to the overnight ranks after facing stakes rivals in the $55,000 Cherokee Nation Classic Cup at Will Rogers Downs in his last start May 13. He pushed the pace on a muddy track and finished fourth to Z Rockstar, who one race later captured an optional $80,000 claimer at Churchill Downs.
As for Perfect to Please, his work tab suggests he is coming up to a strong race. He drilled five furlongs in a bullet 59.80 seconds at Lone Star last Saturday. Perfect to Please is also shortening up a little in distance, and his last two wins have come at a mile. He’s further appealing for his strong collection of recent Beyer Speed Figures.
Bryan McNeil has the mount from post 2. Cary White trains Perfect to Please for the estate of Ray F. Kirk.
