Peppers Pride, the New Mexico-bred mare who in January retired undefeated in 19 starts, has been confirmed in foal to the 2000 Horse of the Year, Tiznow, on a March 23 cover, according to Nathan Fox, president of Richland Hills Farm in Midway, Ky. Peppers Pride, who owns the longest winning streak in modern North American history, is scheduled to foal out at Richland Hills next year. She is owned by her breeder, Joe Allen. Peppers Pride, 6, raced exclusively in New Mexico during a career in which she won 14 stakes and earned $1,066,085. She joined Cigar, Citation, Hallowed Dreams and Mister Frisky in the record books in April 2008, when she won her 16th straight race in the $75,000 Foutz Distaff at SunRay. The win tied the modern North American mark for consecutive victories, and one start later, on Oct. 4, Peppers Pride broke it when she won her 17th straight race in an optional claiming allowance at Zia Park. Tiznow stands at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky.
