Penn National alters racing calendar for remainder of 2011

The Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission has approved a revised live racing calendar for the remainder of 2011 for Penn National Race Course.

The central Pennsylvania track reopens for live racing on Friday night, followed by programs this Saturday and Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Saturday, Sept. 30, with first post time at 6 p.m. Eastern.

Penn National will then switch to a Tuesday through Saturday evening racing schedule for October and November. The exception is Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, when there will be no live racing.

Post time will move up to 5 p.m. in December. The track will also add Monday night racing on Dec. 5 and Dec. 26. There will be no racing on Dec. 24 or Dec. 31.
