Four stakes races on the Friday card at Penn National, including the Grade 3, $400,000 Penn Mile, will be postponed a second time and will now be run on Friday, June 27. There will be no turf racing at the track this week due to heavy rain throughout the week. The original 11 races scheduled at the track for Friday were to include the Penn Mile, $150,000 Penn Oaks, and two $75,000 statebred races, the Alphabet Soup and the Lyphard. All four turf stakes were originally supposed to take place on May 30 but were postponed three weeks due to weather. They will now be postponed another week for the same reason. Because of the shorter postponement this time, Penn National will not reopen nominations or accept new entries. The fields will not be redrawn and will run as they are next week.  The Penn National card this Friday will now feature seven races on dirt, including a $50,000 allowance that will be taken off the turf. Post time for the first race will remain 5 p.m. Eastern. With the four stakes canceled, the seventh race, which was supposed to run at 8:15 p.m., will now be considered the third race and be run at 6 p.m. The original eighth through 11th races will be renumbered as races 4-7. The All-Turf Pick 4, an additional wager offered for the four stakes races, will be removed from the wagering menu and added to the Friday card next week. All other bets will be adjusted to conform to the new seven-race card. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now.
