Pegasus undercard has plenty to offer
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Preceding the Pegasus, seven supporting stakes are slated for a very busy Saturday undercard.
Four of the supporting stakes are Grade 3 events. Here is a quick look at those races (entries taken on Wednesday):
$200,000 W.L. McKnight: Bullards Alley was on a van Monday en route from New Orleans as one of two Grade 1 winners likely for this 1 1/2-mile turf race, joining locally based Bigger Picture. Other probables include Money Multiplier, Oscar Nominated, Infinite Wisdom, and at least a few more.
$200,000 La Prevoyante: Summersault, winner of the Grade 3 Orchid here last spring, is among the top contenders in this 1 1/2-mile turf race for fillies and mares, along with Apple Betty, Beauly, and Daring Duchess.
:: PEGASUS PLAYER'S PACKAGE: Save on PPs, Clocker Reports, Pace Projectors, and more!
$125,000 Fred Hooper: Beasley and Tommy Macho are the top prospects for this one-turn-mile on the main track.
$125,000 Hurricane Bertie: Curlin’s Approval figures as a solid favorite in this seven-furlong race for fillies and mares over Apologynotaccepted and Spice Lady.
The three ungraded stakes, all worth $125,000, are the Ladies’ Turf Sprint, the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint, and the South Beach.
