Peck: Saratoga pick three play for Wednesday, Aug. 19

Looking for value in the Saratoga pick threes, and this mid-card sequence may be the best shot at it.

RACE 5: GAMETOWN has some of the better breezes in this field and trainer Mark Casse does well enough with firsters, and with turf sprinters. OSCAR MIKE debuts for a barn with excellent numbers in most pertinent trainer stats. JAN'S RESERVE moved way up on the turf last time and now adds blinkers. Almost have to use LIGHT BRIGADE due to connections, but I'll use him on backup tickets only due to likely underlaid price and the tough post.
A's: 2, 8, 10
B's: 1
C's: NONE

RACE 6: NOBLE MOON chased a quick pace in that last one and held well enough. He's 0 for 4 at the distance, but he has been in some tough spots going nine furlongs. C J'S AWESOME comes out of the same race and also was victimized by the race flow. DON DULCE goes first off the claim and fits well based on his recent Beyer Speed Figures. HEREDITARY is on only the thinnest tickets because of the expected short price, despite no real Beyer edge.

RACE 7: FISH TRAPPE ROAD is obvious, but he's going to be a handful here as those with racing experience don't match up well and none of the firsters has standout work tabs. I'll use CHARMING INDY as the sole alternative on backup tickets in a stab at a big score, but the lone "A" play is the favorite.
