Peck: Saratoga pick three for Labor Day

The very last pick three of the Saratoga meet looks interesting, as the final leg features a couple of intriguing longshots.

RACE 9: TAKE THE STAND is the one to catch from the rail. RING WEEKEND has some of the better Beyer Speed Figures in the field. TAKEOVER TARGET fits on his best figures. JAY GATSBY meets better, but that last effort was solid.

RACE 10: BITUMEN and CLASSIC EMPIRE are the "A" plays, but PRACTICAL JOKE has to be strongly considered off his debut score. RUNAWAY LUTE warrants inclusion as the main speed and with some decent recent works.

RACE 11: The last race of the meet is typical Saratoga – a wide-open turf route that has the potential to yield a longshot winner. Looking for WAR BABY to run well at a square price, as she has a decent late kick. She also represents the last chance for trainer Jonathan Sheppard to keep his Saratoga streak intact. MY KINDA DEVIL is the other "A," as she closed well in a race where speeds held the edge in her latest. Also including BLENHEIM PALACE and CRYSTAL WAVE.
