Peck: Rainbow 6 play for Wednesday at Gulfstream Park
Here's a look at the Gulfstream Rainbow 6 for Wednesday, which features a $766,642 carryover.
RACE 6: MIGHTY SKY (#1) should be able to use his tactical speed and inside post to his best advantage. VICTORY MAST (#4) may have moved too soon in his latest, where he chased a very quick pace. VERY COLORFUL (#11) is easy to like on the class drop, and he ran well for a tag two back, but the wide post, the short price, and the fact he blew a clear lead in that race relegates him to "B" status.
A's: 1, 4
B's: 11
C's: NONE
RACE 7: EIRE EN POINTE (#5) was a game winner in her return from the long layoff, and she'll be tough if she can run back to that one. CREATIVE LICENSE (#9) was caught up in a duel in her latest, but she also can rate and she'll improve if she gets a better trip. LADY MIDNIGHT (#10) had little chance behind that very slow pace in her latest; prior Beyers fit nicely. Lesser tickets will include AMBER MORNING (#4), who figures to be running late, and BETTERLEGSONATABLE (#12), who may be the main speed, despite the outside post.
A's: 5, 9, 10
B's: 4
C's: 12
RACE 8: UKNOWWHATIMEAN (#7) has some of the best works in this field, which is comprised mostly of firsters. GROOVY A (#10) looks best of the trio with race experience and is the one to beat. CUT IN STONE (#8) is worth using in some capacity off the decent debut. STAR DYNASTY (#4) and MISS ELLA (#6) are debut runners with decent works who I'd want to use at least a little.
A's: 7, 10
B's: 4, 6, 8
C's: NONE
RACE 9: STRICT COMPLIANCE (#10) is an obvious threat despite the layoff as that debut try was excellent, with her closing to just miss despite a mild early pace. Backups will include possible speeds CHARLEVOIX (#1) and HARASS (#2). PALOWET (#6) has decent works and merits a look.
A's: 10
B's: 1, 2
C's: 6
RACE 10: CITY OF VENGEANCE (#4) was sharp in victory in his debut try, shaking loose early and drawing off late. He can repeat if able to get clear again, which certainly seems plausible. Most tickets will go through him, but I'll also use COLORMEPOMPOM (#1) and GRAND JR (#3) as secondary plays.
A's: 4
B's: 1, 3
C's: NONE
RACE 11: GO GO ROMEO (#12) stretches out from sprints and could prove tough if the pace is on the mild side. FANCY HENRY (#1) has tactical speed and should make use of his inside post. K C WIEGMANN (#9) has steady recent Beyers on the grass. COLLINITO (#3) warrants respect off the figure he posted in that maiden score last time.
A's: 1, 12
B's: 3, 9
C's: NONE
