Peck: Pimlico Rainbow 6 play for Saturday, June 6
Saturday is closing day at Pimlico, and there is a mandatory payout on the Rainbow 6. Here is my play:
Race 6
Going with all A's and no B's (or C's, for that matter) in this opening leg, as WITH EXPRESSION, TALKIN' STUFF, and DUKE OF PERTH seem to have an edge on the others. They're too close to separate, so I'll use them all equally, and the others don't seem to be good enough.

Race 7
Prefer a pair of firsters – AIM STRAIGHT and DAILY NEWS – based on workout patterns, and those horses will be the main plays. But I'll also include logical debut runners JOSEPH and SUPER CAUSEWAY, as well as TIGERS BOP, who ran well enough on the turf in his career bow.

Race 8
CARPE OMNIA has some tactical speed and an inside post, and that may be all she needs to beat this modest group. PENNIE MY LOVE also is a heavy use for me as she has some decent back figures. Lesser tickets will include MIMIPAOPONCHIS, KEYS GARBOY, KAREN'S RAG DOLL, and HOME SPUN GAL.

Race 9
SILVER ROCK is an obvious threat at this level – he was third when claimed for this tag two back. ALICANTINO is a longshot with a chance to steal it as this is not a turf race loaded with speed. LONELY WHISTLE is wide but his positional speed gives him credibility. Others to include are BARNARDS GALAXY, MINNIE PUNT, and VENTURA BAR.

Race 10
Lone single in this sequence is SEGOVIA, who is going to be very tough if able to run back to that last Beyer (83). Backup tickets will include the only two horses to prove themselves capable of matching that figure, DOUBLE WHAMMY and REGAL SOLDIER, as well as MY SON ERNIE, who seems to have some upside for a high-percentage barn.

Race 11
Like LONGING TO TRAVEL a lot but don't want to hang the whole ticket on him, so I'll also make THUNDERS FURY an A play. Lesser tickets will feature CANDY MAN CAN and LAVA, but the top pair would be good enough if the bankroll doesn't allow a deeper play.
