Peck: Pick three for Penn Mile card at Penn National
It's Penn Mile Day at Penn National, but while the early pick four is where the stakes action is, it may not be where the value is. Rather than try to beat some logical favorites in the black-types races, I'll take a shot at some prices in a midcard pick three.
RACE 5
IMPERFECT (#12) was off the board in his lone turf try but did close ground late despite the race flow favoring the speeds. Using him as a key, along with TINTO MESA (#5), who lacks a turf win but has Beyer Speed Figures good enough to make him a serious threat, with stone closer FOREST RIM (#7) as a backup, reluctantly, given his lack of positional speed.

RACE 6
Using them all in this maiden special weight sprint in one form or another. CANT STOP THE RAIN (#4) and THROUGH APPALACHIA (#5) are the "As" due to decent prices relative to their chances, but it's truly wide open, and none would be a complete surprise.

RACE 7
I'll try to beat 2-1 morning-line favorite Rick's Boy, a winner of one of 17 races, with six seconds. GALON HAPUS (#3) may be able to make the last run here if he gets a better setup than he did in his last. GRACE AND TRUTH (#6) could be the one they have to catch.
