Peck: Laurel Park pick four for Maryland Million Day
It's Maryland Million Day at Laurel, where it's fast and firm. The midcard pick four features races with apparent singles in the first and final legs, but perhaps there's some value to be had by going deep in the middle legs.
RACE 4: BLU MOON ACE had the race flow in his favor last time but was also in against much tougher, and he also posted another 99 Beyer Speed Figure, a mark he posted in that easy win at Timonium in the Coalition Stakes in his prior try. Those figures give him a clear edge here, and he is not likely to get beat if he's able to approach those last two efforts.

RACE 5: PEARL GEM scored in professional fashion in her debut, coming from off the pace to win by nearly three lengths, and she should get a favorable setup in her first start vs. winners. PIKACHU PRINCESS is another who stands to benefit from the expected pace scenario; her latest, when second, is better than it may appear, as she chased the pace in a race lacking same. MARGIE'S MONEY is the main speed; she was a sharp winner in her latest, and the resulting Beyer gives her strong credibility (3).
A's: 3, 8, 10
B's: NONE
C's: NONE
RACE 6: Using them all in this wide-open turf route, as there are several with wake-up potential and a couple of virtually unknown quality on the turf. Further, the race lacks an obvious race flow, making it difficult to plot (14).
A's: 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14
B's: 2, 9, 10
C's: 1, 3, 7, 15
RACE 7: CRABCAKES has a decided Beyer advantage, and her early zip may also provide her with a tactical edge, as this sprint appears to be a little light on speed. She stretches out a furlong to seven panels but has run well at this distance in the past (1).
A's: 9
B's: NONE
