Peck: Kentucky Downs pick five for Saturday, Sept. 10

With a carryover of more than $52,000, Saturday's pick five at Kentucky Downs is certainly worth a look, and a play.

RACE 6: Taking an immediate stand with COCO MON (#9) against morning-line favorite Ghurair, who is in for a tag for the first time off the layoff. We'll need separation at some point, and there's no better time than with a longshot in the first leg.

C's: NONE

RACE 7: DIMENSION (#8) has solid back Beyer Speed Figures, and his latest is an absolute throw-out. WATCHYOUROWNBOBBER (#3) is easy to like coming off a pair of wins and a 99 Beyer in his latest. I'll use HOOTENANNY (#4) despite his coming off a perfect-trip win against lesser, as he's back-classy, but only as a "B."

RACE 8: INSIDE OUT (#5) just missed at Delaware last time and hails from a very sharp turf barn. LOTS O' LEX (#7) is much better than the running line shows for her latest in the Beverley D., as she was off slowly and then moved prematurely. NO FAULT OF MINE (#6) wasn't badly beaten in that Grade 1 Beverly D. last time out. The other two morning-line favorites, ENTRECHAT (#2) and ANNULMENT (#3), are backups.

B's: 2, 3
C's: NONE

RACE 9: BULLARDS ALLEY (#2) was too close to the pace two back, and a slow start cost him last time. SEVE'S ROAD (#3) is the one to fear late. POWER FOOT (#6) has to be respected based on his top figures. DA BIG HOSS (#7) is, of course, the main danger and the most likely winner, but he is against the race flow. His edge in Beyers makes him an "A," but he could be a risky single for some.

RACE 10: MISSISSIPPI DELTA (#3) has steady figures and looms tough here if she can run to them. She's the sole "A" play, but I'll also include MISS DOUBLE D'ORO (#4), LATE SPRING (#7), and SEEKING TREASURE (#8).
