Peck: Keeneland pick four for Saturday, April 11
Lots of interesting races at Keeneland on Saturday, but I settled on the late pick four as the most intriguing.
RACE 8
Really like the works on SUPER HUMOR, who debuts for underrated first-out trainer Mark Casse. For me, she's a solid "A," as some of my favorite keys are debuting runners with this type of work tab, and she's in fact a key for me on the card. But I suppose you also need to make room for the logical CHARLEVOIX and FLYING JIBE, who seem to be the most dangerous of the experienced runners. PLAYTIME, a firster from Shug McGaughey, packs a couple of bullet works for this and is of course capable of winning this first time out of the box.
A's: 3
B's: 2, 4, 10
C's: NONE
RACE 9
SAMIAM and EDEN PRAIRIE come out of the same races and are the main speeds in this Jenny Wiley, yet they should both offer value against fillies like BALL DANCING and HARD NOT TO LIKE, a couple of Tampa shippers. The latter won this race last year and scored in her latest (only to be disqualified), while the former has done nothing wrong in three starts since coming to the U.S., more than holding her own against solid competition. The latter pair are more logical, but I'm not willing to downgrade the top two because of the value factor, so all will be "A" plays, with nothing underneath.
A's: 4, 5, 6, 8
B's: NONE
C's: NONE

RACE 10
Willing to bet against Fame and Power, as he could have trouble running back to that last figure, earned in a sprint with the aid of a loose lead. He'll be under pressure in his two-turn debut, it seems, and the relatively short price makes him an unattractive play. Really like DONWORTH here, as the raw running line does little to illustrate how impressive he was in his bow despite a world of trouble, but also understand that DIVINING ROD can be tough here if he can avoid a duel. I'll use both as "A's" as long as the bankroll allows and play another ticket singling only DONWORTH.
A's: 1, 7
B's: NONE
C's: NONE
RACE 11
Thinking DANISH DYNAFORMER gets enough pace, as long as the race stays intact, and given that and a clean trip, he seems more than capable. Same goes for PATERNAL PRIDE. Those are the "A" selections, but INDEBTED will be on lesser tickets thanks to his upside, and ARAQEEL also merits a look, even if he benefited from quick splits in his debut score. BALDONNEL makes his U.S. debut for Chad Brown, making him a contender by default.
A's: 8, 9
B's: 4, 5, 7
C's: NONE
