RACE 9

BURNING TIME (#4) went down as the odds-on favorite in his latest, but that was no easy trip, and the trouble he encountered certainly cost him a better placing. His previous Beyer Speed Figures fit very well here, and he'll be tough if he runs to them in his first start off the claim for a barn that has had recent success with such runners. BURNING TIME is the lone "A," but just in case he doesn't rebound off that effort, I'll take a little insurance on the class dropper OLD TIMES SAKE (#3), who figures to be involved from the start.

RACE 10

TARNISHED (#4) had an interesting trip in her first start off the layoff. She stands to improve with better luck and with that race under her belt, as trainer Alan Goldberg does well the second time off the bench. FUNNY MONEY (#5) checked at the start in her own return, and that cost her position. She's a closer, but that slow break left her with too much to do. HOT AND SPICY (#12) is wide and makes her seasonal debut in her first start against older, but she has figures that give her credibility. PENELEPUT (#6) is a "B"; I want to include her based on her works, but the long break and her lack of speed precludes me from making her an "A."

RACE 11

CAY DANCER (#10) had no chance behind that slow pace in her first U. S. start and figures to get an improved race flow this afternoon. LORI'S STORE (#6) has a strong late kick and just missed in her latest despite having to close into tepid splits. KITTEN'S DUMPLINGS (#8) has been training smartly for her return, and her back figures suggest she'll return running.

RACE 12

Going to use all of these to some degree, as this maiden special weight turf route is wide open. "A" plays are the following: VOYAGE BEYOND (#9), who switches to turf for Mott; PROUDLY WE HAIL (#2), a firster from Motion, and POINTE CLASS (#7), who debuts for Pletcher. "B" and "C" horses are listed below.
