Peck: Gulfstream Park pick four for Saturday, Dec. 3
The late pick four looks like an appealing play on opening day at Gulfstream, with a couple of wide-open races and a seemingly solid single.
RACE 8: AMERICAN SAILOR was a sharp winner in her first start after a short freshening. FAST FLYING RUMOR has run some big races while sprinting on the turf, and a tepid pace cost him last time. RIVZINTHEHOUSE has high speed and is a proven turf sprinter. STEVIS MAN sure took to the turf in his debut on the surface last time out. SUPER SPENDER should be in position to benefit from a lively pace up front (5).

RACE 9: MARABEA took advantage of a favorable setup in her first start following a brief break, but a similar scenario could unfold today. TEMPLE FUR has to be respected off those last couple of figures. DEFYING GRAVITY was behind a couple of these last time out, but a slow pace cost her her best chance. BE PLAYFUL makes her first start off the Maker claim and seems to be a good fit with these based on her best Beyers. NORTHERN SMILE was a beaten favorite at Laurel, but she was against the race flow there. SEEKING TREASURE has back figures that give her credibility (6).

RACE 10: Standing alone with ROYAL POSSE, who looked good in victory over New York-breds in his latest. He has tactical sped, an edge in Beyers, and a proven ability to handle the distance, all of which suggests he'll run a big race here despite moving into open company (1).

RACE 11: RIVIERE DU LOUP disappointed when last seen but merits respect based on the Beyers he posted at Monmouth in his two prior tries. CAMMACK saw a six-race win streak snapped at Keeneland, but he ran well in defeat there and put up a representative figure. AIRE BUENO could only manage second as the odds-on favorite in his most recent, but he chased a loose winner there, and that rival should help ensure an honest pace today (3).
