Peck: Belmont pick three play for Sunday, May 31
Taking a look at the last $1 pick three of the weekend:
RACE 7: MCKENZIES WAY (#6) has some of the best Beyers in the field, and on the drop by trainer David Jacobson, he's an easy gelding to include, but I'll also include two of the speeds, OLTRE' ORO (#2) and PETROCELLI (#3). The former adds blinkers while the latter comes off a game loss (3).
RACE 8: Taking a shot against the morning-line favorite, Runway Giant, who doesn't win all that often, especially on turf. I'll take my shots with the following: UNDERHILL DRIVE (#4), a proven turfer; SHARP QUALITY, an unproven grass horse from a barn that does well with first-time turfers; and RESOLUTE BABE (#9), who didn't run badly in her turf bow (3).
RACE 9: COORDINATE (#1) has some of the best figures in the field, and he's in for a tag for the first time. SHAKE THINGS UP (#6) merits respect off the most recent Beyer he posted (2).
THE PLAY: 2, 3, 6 / 4, 5, 9 / 1, 6 = 18 combinations ($18 ticket)
