Peck: Aqueduct pick four for Saturday, Nov. 28
The late pick four at Aqueduct, which features the Grade 1 Cigar Mile and the Grade 3 Comely, was greatly affected by key scratches in race 8 but is still worth a shot.
RACE 7
WONDER GAL benefited from a favorable trip and setup in her win against statebreds last time, but her positional speed should again mean she's in a good spot, close up behind a controlled pace. FAST RETAILING is a longshot with some upside. CARRUMBA could be long gone on the lead.
A: 3, 7
B: 4
C: NONE
RACE 8
Late scratches, particularly that of Plainview, really impacted the race flow of this optional claimer. I didn't originally like GOODTOLOOK, but the new expected pace scenario seems to be in his favor. My original 1-2 picks, EL JEFE GRANDE and MUTIN, were not aided by that scratch and are now "B" plays for me.
A: 9
B: 1, 7
C: NONE
RACE 9
RED VINE and TONALIST seem like the best shots at catching up with PRIVATE ZONE, the defending champ and the most likely winner of the Cigar Mile, given that there's otherwise no real speed in the field. TONALIST and PRIVATE ZONE as "A" plays make obvious sense, but in an attempt to create some value, I'll use RED VINE in the top spot as well.
A's: 3, 5, 7
B's: NONE
C's: NONE

RACE 10
Really like SILVER VIXEN, who goes from a negative race flow to a positive one. She also has room to improve with blinkers added. But KRISTEN'S LIMITS has some decent works and shouldn't be left out. SOPHIA'S CHOICE is versatile and has very competitive Beyer Speed Figures. KITTY MADDNES outran her odds in her debut.
A's: 8
B's: 6, 10
C's: 5
