Pearl Tiara, Hard Luck Justice extend win streaks

Pearl Tiara and Hard Luck Justice are rising stars in the Indiana-bred ranks and both won stakes races Wednesday at Indiana Grand.
The horses captured separate mile and 70-yard stakes for 3-year-olds bred in Indiana.
Hard Luck Justice dominated the $150,000 Governor’s and Pearl Tiara battled back to win the $150,000 Indiana First Lady.
Pearl Tiara ($4.40) broke alertly and set fractions of 25.05 seconds for the opening quarter, 49.45 for the half-mile, and 1:13.75 for six furlongs. In the stretch she lost her lead to the rail-riding Diamond Solitaire, but came back to win by a neck over that one. It was another 3 1/2 lengths back in third to Russian Influence.
Pearl Tiara covered the distance on a fast track in 1:43.65. Fernando De La Cruz was aboard for trainer Tim Glyshaw.
Pearl Tiara was winning her third straight race at the meet for the partnership of Loren Hebel-Osborne, Carol Hebel, Claudia Pirman, Fred Pirman, and David Osborne. She accounted for a conditioned allowance sprint June 7, then romped by 8 3/4 lengths in a division of the Hoosier Breeders Sophomore Stakes on June 23.
Pearl Tiara is a daughter of Majestic Harbor. She has now won 4 of 10 starts for earnings of $225,313.
In the Governor’s, Hard Luck Justice won his third straight race when he rolled by 8 1/2 lengths over Nobody Listens. It was another 3 1/4 lengths back in third to A Few too Many.
Hard Luck Justice ($2.80) sat just off leader Nobody Listens through fractions of 24.28 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.76 for the half-mile and 1:12.10 for six furlongs. The eventual winner overtook that one and increased his advantage through the stretch while covering the distance on a fast track in 1:41.53.

Hard Luck Justice started his win streak with in a division of the Hoosier Breeders Sophomore Stakes on June 23 at Indiana Grand, winning by 6 1/4 lengths. One start later, he captured a mile and a sixteenth allowance over older Indiana-breds by 9 1/2 lengths July 20.
Hard Luck Justice is a son of Harry’s Holiday who has now won 4 of 8 starts for earnings of $202,505.
