Pashito the Che captured the richest prize of his career Saturday, the for 3-year-old sprinters at Philadelphia Park. The 2-1 favorite, Pashito the Che ran the six furlongs in 1:08.42 on the fast track, holding off Custom for Carlos by a nose. Just Ben set the early fractions, with Custom for Carlos and Pashito the Che, with Eibar Coa aboard, right behind. Custom for Carlos and Pashito the Che moved as a team midway on the turn, swallowing up Just Ben. Custom for Carlos, with Stewart Elliott up, grabbed a very narrow lead until Pashito the Che edged to the front at the top of the stretch. It was a two-horse head-to-head battle the rest of the way, with Pashito the Che stubbornly holding a narrow lead throughout. Trained by Scott Lake, Pashito the Che got his fifth win in 10 starts. It was 6 3/4 lengths back to Carbonite, who rallied from last to get third. Just Ben was fourth followed by You Luckie Mann, Everyday Heroes, Happy Bull and Mesa Sunrise.
