Parx: Irish Exchange scores easy victory in muddy Langhorne

Alyssa Spakowski/EQUI-PHOTO Irish Exchange, ridden by Kendrick Carmouche, scores by 5 3/4 lengths in the Langhorne for fillies and mares.

Irish Exchange easily handled a sealed, muddy track and the step up to stakes company for Tuesday’s $72,810 Langhorne Stakes for fillies and mares at Parx Racing.

In extending her winning streak to three races, the 4-year-old Irish Exchange, ridden by Kendrick Carmouche for trainer Lupe Preciado, was part of a three-way battle for the lead trough a half-mile in 45.61 seconds. She made a three-wide bid to take a clear lead turning into the stretch and drew out to score by 5 3/4 lengths. She completed 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.96 for her fifth win in 16 lifetime starts for Stony Brook Stables.

New York shipper Los Ojitos, the slight favorite at 6-5 in a field reduced to four by the early scratches of defending champion Winning Image and Darn That Raven, outfought Promise Me a Cat by a neck for second.
