Parx cancels Tuesday card due to heat wave
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLEParx Racing has canceled its Tuesday card due to the continuing heat wave in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Parx canceled its Monday card Sunday morning. The decision to cancel Tuesday was made early Monday afternoon. The Tuesday forecast in Bensalem, Pa., calls for a high temperature of 96 with a real-feel temperature of 108, according to AccuWeather. There is a 25 percent chance of thunderstorms.
The Tuesday card included the Grade 3, $200,000 Dr. Penny Memorial, a 1 1/16-mile turf race for fillies and mares. According to a track official, the race will be rescheduled but a new date has not yet been determined.
