Parx: Big fields throughout Sunday's card
The races at Parx continue to draw large fields. The nine Sunday races include five fields of 12 and average 10.8 horses per race.
One of the better races is the sixth, a 6 1/2-furlong maiden race for 2-year-old fillies, which has a full field. Sister Patricia comes into this off a promising debut for trainer Daniel Velasquez and will face Tiz Rude, who is overdue to win a maiden race for John Servis.
In her debut, Sister Patricia was second at 5-1 to the Servis-trained maiden winner Ms Locust Point, who won by 4 3/4 lengths. It was nine lengths back from Sister Patricia to the third-place finisher. Sister Patricia earned a 57 Beyer Speed Figure.
Tiz Rude has finished second in three of her four starts. She was beaten a nose in her most recent start after engaging in a long drive with the Todd Pletcher-trained No Sweat. The 65 Beyer Tiz Rude earned is the highest in the field.
Race 8 is a wide-open first-level allowance at a mile and 70 yards. McMullen County, Street Heat, and Comanche Ruler are among the top contenders.
