OCEANPORT, N.J. – Partyallnightlong, one of the most successful active New Jersey-breds, tackles open company once again while returning to turf in the $60,000 My Frenchman Stakes on Saturday at Monmouth Park. The 5 1/2-furlong dash from the infield chute drew a field of nine, with two also-eligibles, Bye Bye Bernie and Respighi, hoping for defections, while Bern Identity was entered for the main track only. Partyallnightlong, a 7-year-old homebred for Richard Malouf and trainer Eddie Broome, cleared $500,000 in career earnings with his fifth-place finish here most recently in the Mr. Prospector Stakes. He is 1 for 3 at the meet, all sprint stakes on the main track. The victory came in his lone race against statebreds, a three-length triumph in the John J. Reilly Handicap at the end of May. He has the rail with Trevor McCarthy aboard for the first time. “We’re going to try to sit just off the pace,” Broome said. “He doesn’t need to go up there and battle. His best races are where he can sit off a little bit. He doesn’t mind being on the inside, but I don’t particularly care for the post.” My Frenchman Stakes, Race 11 KEY CONTENDERS Partyallnightlong (Last 3 Beyers: 77-87-82) ◗ Although most of his starts have been on dirt, Partyallnightlong is 2-1-0 in 5 grass races. His lone Monmouth turf effort was a second-place finish in the 2010 Gilded Times Stakes. ◗ His last grass race was a rallying fourth in the Silks Run Stakes at Gulfstream Park in February. He breezed five furlongs here in 1:03 on turf in preparation for the surface switch. Bold Thunder (Last 3 Beyers: 93-92-92) ◗ Rang up Beyers of 92 or better in his last four races, including a career-best 100 in the Silks Run Stakes victory. ◗ Bold Thunder is the only horse dropping out of a graded stakes, a fourth-place finish after an awkward start in the Grade 3 Parx Dash Handicap. Petey Cramer (Last 3 Beyers: 87-91-86) ◗ The hottest horse in the race rides a three-racing winning streak as he advanced through his allowance conditions. This will be his stakes debut. ◗ He is 4 for 7 since joining the barn of Jorge Navarro, Monmouth’s leading trainer. ◗ Formulator Fact: Navarro is 11 for 34 in grass sprints over the past year, a robust 32 percent win ratio. The return on investment in that span is $2.70.
