Marty McGee|Jan 25, 2021

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Thursday’s card will have back-to-back starter allowances as features. Dale Romans will send out Storm Runner as the 2-1 morning-line favorite in race 8, a $34,000 starter going a one-turn mile, while Payntdembluesaway is the 7-5 program choice for trainer Jane Cibelli in race 9, a $31,000 starter for filly-mare turf sprinters.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 (races 5-10) began the week with an empty jackpot following a mandatory forceout Sunday, when $2,077,971 in new bets were taken.

First post for the 10-race card Thursday is 12:35 p.m. Eastern. The local forecast calls for windy conditions, but no rain, and peak temperatures in the low 70s.

Gulfstream is back to its no-spectator policy amid the ongoing pandemic after a limited number of tickets were sold for Pegasus Day.

◗ Jason Blewitt has resigned from his position as an in-house television host at Gulfstream to work as an account representative for West Point Thoroughbreds. Blewitt, 42, had worked for Gulfstream since May 2017 after nearly 20 years in various roles at the New York Racing Association.
