The Grade 3, $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot and Grade 3, $400,000 Delta Downs Princess both drew overflow fields on Tuesday, when entries were taken for the Saturday features. The route races for 2-year-olds anchor a card of eight stakes worth $2.3 million. Trainer D. Wayne Lukas has the morning-line favorites for both stakes, with Mr. Z installed the track’s 5-2 choice in the Jackpot and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Take Charge Brandi made 2-1 for the Princess. Delta will have a special afternoon post of 1:15 p.m. Central on Saturday. The Jackpot and Princess are part of an all-stakes pick four that runs on races 4-7. The bet will have a minimum guaranteed pool of $200,000. The sequence opens with the $150,000 Louisiana Jewel and the $200,000 Treasure Chest that drew Grade 1 winner Spring in the Air. The Jackpot, which goes as the seventh race, drew 12 horses but just 10 will make up the body of the field on the six-furlong track at Delta. Scratch time is 10 a.m. Central on Friday. The Jackpot, at a mile and a sixteenth, and the Princess, at a mile, will both be run around two turns at Delta. The races each carry 10 points toward the preference systems administered by Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. The Jackpot and Princess are the richest offerings of the meet at Delta.   Other highlights of the Jackpot Day card include the $250,000 Delta Mile.
