Overanalyze to stand at WinStar Farm

DRF Breeding Staff|Oct 22, 2013
Overanalyze
Barbara D. Livingston Overanalyze will try to give Todd Pletcher his third major stakes win for 3-year-olds since last weekend when he runs as the favorite in the West Virginia Derby.

Grade 1 winner Overanalyze, retired last month, will make his stallion debut in 2014 at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky., for an advertised fee of $10,000.

The 3-year-old son of Dixie Union is best known for his 4 ¼ length victory in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby that cemented his status on the 2013 Kentucky Derby trail. He was also among New York’s leading juveniles of 2012, winning the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes and Futurity Stakes.

Overanalyze retired with four wins in 11 career starts for earnings of $1,046,381. He raced for owner Mike Repole and trainer Todd Pletcher.

“Overanalyze’s Arkansas Derby win was as impressive of a Derby prep as there was all season in my opinion,” Repole said. “I love this horse’s attributes. WinStar has committed to breeding 10 mares to him, and I told them I’d match that with 10 of my own mares.”

Bred in Kentucky by Diamond A Racing Corp., Overanalyze is out of the unraced Unaccounted For mare Unacloud, whose six winners from nine foals to race also include Grade 1 winner Meadow Breeze and Grade 2-placed winner Mighty Monsoon.

Overanalyze will be offered as part of WinStar’s “Dream Big” program, in which breeders may earn a lifetime breeding right to the stallion by breeding and producing two live foals on stands and nurses contracts in the first two years of his stallion career.

“Overanalyze is currently the last Grade 1 winner by Dixie Union, who was proving to be a great sire from a very important line before his early passing,” said Elliott Walden, WinStar’s president and CEO. “Overanalyze has a very similar profile as Union Rags, so we believe he presents tremendous value through our Dream Big program. We’ve had success with our breeding rights programs with stallions like Spring At Last and Hold Me Back, and we think Overanalyze is going to be very popular as well.”
