Over the Edge comes through

Over the Edge got a perfect trip before holding off Miss A. Bomb to post a popular half-length victory Saturday in the $50,000 Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway Park in Florence, Ky.

Confidently ridden by Miguel Mena, Over the Edge took command after turning for home in the 6 1/2-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies, then was kept to urging when finishing in 1:16.46 over Polytrack. Over the Edge, a Thunder Gulch filly owned and bred by G. Watts Humphrey, returned $3.40 as the heavy favorite.

Miss A. Bomb, who had narrowly defeated Over the Edge in the Dec. 23 Gowell Stakes at Turfway, finished 2 3/4 lengths ahead of Shes Impossible in the field of eight. Ridden by Orlando Mojica, Miss A. Bomb was the 5-2 second choice and completed a $2 exacta worth just $7.20.

Rusty Arnold is the trainer of Over the Edge, who was posting her first stakes win and her second triumph from three overall starts.
