Outplay JK event set for Friday, May 11
The Outplay JK promotion, one of the most successful in the brief history of DRF Tournaments, is on once again. The contest will run as part of a special live broadcast on Friday, May 11, 3:30 p.m. ET.
Here’s how it will work. On Friday afternoon, there will be a special feeder for the last-chance qualifier for the World Horseplayers’ Tour/Santa Anita Preakness event. The feeder will cost $27, and one in 20 players will win their $458 entries to the last-chance Preakness qualifier on the following day.
The game, which will be broadcast live via live.drf.com and recorded for an episode of the DRF Players’ Podcast, will have a special wrinkle. Podcast co-host Jonathon Kinchen will be playing in the event, and any player who finishes ahead of him will receive his entry fee back.
Kinchen is not eligible to win the prize as he is one of the creators of the World Horseplayers’ Tour, but he’s very much looking forward to playing in the feeder.
“It’s a good deal for players because they have a different target other than just winning,” said Kinchen. “They can win a seat, or they have a safety net if they can just get in front of me. Anytime I get a chance to interact directly with players and listeners, it’s always fun.”
Feeders for the Outplay JK game start this week for just $7 on DRF Tournaments. One in five entries will advance to next Friday’s game.
The World Horseplayers’ Tour/Santa Anita Preakness contest is a live-bankroll event May 19-20 at the Great Race Place. It’s using a new made-for-TV format and will be filmed for a television pilot. Best of all, all the prize money is added, making it a fantastic deal for players. The buy-in is $5,000 with no additional entry fee.
