The connections of 4-year-old filly Ourdaydreaminggirl considered running in the Serena’s Song on Saturday at Monmouth Park, and they considered running in the Allaire duPont Distaff on Friday at Laurel Park. They considered, as well, not running in either race. The considering ended midweek, and Ourdaydreaminggirl will ship from trainer Louis Linder’s base at Parx Racing for the $100,000 Serena’s Song. The trip from Parx to Monmouth covers about 65 miles and, depending on traffic, takes a little more than an hour. Last month, Linder sent Ourdaydreaminggirl on a 650-mile journey west to Keeneland, where she checked in fifth of eight in the Grade 2 Doubledogdare. “She trained up to the Keeneland race tremendous,” said Linder, who trains Ourdaydreaminggirl for Bran Jam Stable and David Clark. “It was a real tough race, but I think the shipping took more out of her there than we hoped. We probably should have gotten there a day or two earlier.” :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now. Beaten a little less than nine lengths by victorious Alpine Princess at Keeneland, Ourdaydreaminggirl can contend Saturday by merely producing a comparable performance. Six other older fillies and mares were entered in the mile and 70-yard dirt race, no one in the same league as Alpine Princess or the filly she edged in the Doubledogdare, Eunomia. Ourdaydreaminggirl has hit a higher level than any of her opponents. She finished third, beaten a neck with a 91 Beyer Speed Figure, in the Grade 1 Cotillion last September at Parx, then regressed in the Mother Goose before bouncing back and ending her season with a creditable third in the Grade 3 Comely. That race’s winner, Fully Subscribed, launched her 2026 campaign with a competitive second in the Grade 1 La Troienne earlier this month. Ourdaydreaminggirl returned from a winter break in the seven-furlong Interborough at Aqueduct, showed surprising speed, and checked in a seemingly useful third. Linder expected progress next out in the 1 1/8-mile Top Flight, but Ourdaydreaminggirl lost by more than 12 lengths. “Just a very dull race,” Linder said. Among the others, Domino Vitali holds promise, having notched two wins from her first three starts after belatedly making the races Nov. 28, about a month before she turned 4. She jumps up in class from first-level allowance competition while making her two-turn debut. Domino Vitali will race prominently from the start and could lead, depending on what connections decide to do with Waveless. That filly is cross-entered in the duPont, and at press time, trainer Todd Pletcher hadn’t answered a text message asking where Waveless would run. Chad Brown came within one victory of the Monmouth training title last season and won more stakes, seven, than any other trainer. For the Serena’s Song, he has lightly raced 4-year-old Lost Horizon, who most recently finished a well-beaten third in the March 29 Top Flight, about six lengths ahead of Ourdaydreaminggirl. A grinder lacking early speed, Lost Horizon would benefit from a strong pace she’s unlikely to find Saturday.
