Our Love best in Majorette

Bossier City, La. - Odds-on favorite Our Love ($3.20) continued her love affair with the John Franks Turf Course at Louisiana Downs on Saturday afternoon as she cruised to victory in the $50,000 Majorette Handicap. Comalagold finished a length and a half back in second followed by Follow the Lite who challenged the winner in midstretch only to be turned back.

The win was Our Love's ninth from only 11 tries over the local lawn as she successfully turned back to five furlongs after winning the mile and a sixteenth $100,000 Matchmaker Stakes her previous start. The Jeff Trosclair charged raced with the pace from the start under regular rider Gerard Melancon and covered the five panels in :56.69 over firm going. The 6-year-old mare improved her career record to ten wins from 22 starts and has now earned over $368,000 for owner Alane Inc.
