Ouija Board sidelined

Ouija Board, winner of the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf last year and Eclipse Award winner as top turf female, is likely to be out of action until September because of a minor stress fracture to her left fore cannon bone.

She sustained the injury finishing seventh behind Azamour in last Wednesday's Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot at York.

Meanwhile, North Light, winner of the 2004 Epsom Derby, has been retired after having suffered a stress fracture in training.

Bred and owned by Ballymacoll Stud and trained by Michael Stoute, North Light, a Danehill colt, concluded his 3-year-old season finishing fifth in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. In his lone start this season, he finished second in the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes.

North Light won 3 of 7 lifetime and earned $1,989,577. Stud plans have not yet been made.
