Orbolution headed home

Stakes winner Orbolution is headed home after fetching one of the highest prices of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky selected horses of racing age sale.
Hinkle Farms bred Orbolution and purchased the filly for $325,000 at the auction. That was the second-highest price of the sale behind only the $410,000 brought by Jalen Journey. A 4-year-old Orb filly, Orbolution was consigned by the Hinkle family to the 2016 Keeneland September yearling sale, where she sold for $370,000 to Starlight Racing. Racing for the StarLadies partnership, Orbolution won the 2017 P.G. Johnson Stakes and finished third in the Grade 3 Miss Grillo Stakes before running off the board in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She then went to the sidelines for an extended period, only returning to the races this spring and finishing second in an optional-claiming race on May 9 at Belmont and third in a similar race June 8 at Monmouth.
The Hinkle family did not immediately indicate whether Orbolution would continue to race this season, but the filly is intended as an eventual replacement in the farm’s broodmare band for her dam, Grade 3-placed My Rachel, now 17. Hinkle Farm purchased My Rachel, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Jack Milton and Grade 3 winner Peace Preserver, for $125,000 at the 2008 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
