Only five enter Vosburgh despite free ticket to Breeders' Cup Sprint

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Though the Grade 2, $250,000 Vosburgh offers a berth into the Breeders’ Cup Sprint next month at Keeneland, the seven-furlong race drew a field of only five.
Jalen Journey was supplemented to the field after running third in a minor stakes at Parx on Monday.
The 8-year-old Drafted, a three-time stakes winner this year, is coming off a fifth-place finish behind winner Cody’s Wish in the Grade 1 Forego at Saratoga.
Eastern Bay, another 8-year-old gelding, is coming off an allowance win at Parx on Sept. 28. He has won 18 of 50 starts.
Elite Power, a 4-year-old son of Curlin, is set to make his stakes debut. He has won his three starts this year, starting with a maiden race on June 5 and a pair of allowance races.
Southern District was a well-beaten fourth in the Tale of the Cat Stakes following two allowance wins.
