O'Neill, Prat top 2019 spring-summer meet standings

ARCADIA, Calif. – Jockey Flavien Prat and trainer Doug O’Neill led their respective categories at the Santa Anita spring-summer meeting, which ended on Sunday.
From April 12 through Sunday, Prat won 30 races, six more than runner-up Joe Talamo. Prat was the second-leading rider at the track’s winter-spring meeting, which ran from Dec. 26 to April 7, finishing with 52 wins, four fewer than Joel Rosario.
O’Neill led all trainers at the spring-summer meeting with 23 wins, two more than Mark Glatt. At the winter-spring meeting, O’Neill won the title with 29 wins, four more than John Sadler.
Vino Rosso, the winner of the Gold Cup at Santa Anita on May 27, was voted horse of the meeting.
There were nine fewer days of racing at the spring-summer meeting than originally scheduled after the track canceled racing on Thursdays out of concern about the available number of horses.
Los Alamitos will begin its 10-day summer meeting on Saturday, and it runs through July 14. Prat is riding at Woodbine on Saturday, but is expected to ride at Los Alamitos on Sunday.
