One Liz brings love of Polytrack to sprint feature
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trainer Wayne Catalano has entrants in five races on an appealing nine-race card Friday at Arlington, and all of them appear to have at least a decent chance, including One Liz, who starts in the featured fourth race.
The feature, set for 4:37 p.m. Central, has multiple high-end allowance conditions, an $80,000 claiming option, and is carded for six furlongs on Polytrack.
One Liz, a 7-year-old Illinois-bred Kitalpha mare, mainly has been a turf router during a successful career, but Catalano cut her back to six furlongs on Polytrack last June, and One Liz won the Illinois-bred Isaac Murphy Stakes by three lengths. On Arlington’s Polytrack, the mare has four wins from five starts, and One Liz returned from a long layoff to win her first start here last season.
One Liz, unfortunately, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in a six-horse field. Her main competition could come from Marquee Miss, who can be forgiven for a subpar showing over yielding turf at Keeneland last out.
